The first term of the 2017 school year is flying by, and school holidays will be here before you know it. If you are looking for a fun day trip or outing with your kids in the April school holidays, keep Flight City in mind!
Flight City’s 777 flight simulator is the real thing – the flight simulator is used by actual Boeing pilots – but it’s just as much fun for children who are interested in aviation, science, technology, engines or simply love airplanes and flying. We’ve had children as young as nine years old go on a joy flight in our simulator, who’ve had a great time! Our flight simulator instructors make sure they tailor each flight simulator session to the needs and abilities of each individual child, and the children can get as serious about being a pilot or have as much fun on the controls as they want.
Flight City Simulation Centre is located in a hangar right on the Jandakot Airport airstrip. Generally there are also a few light aircraft parked on Flight City’s main hangar floor, so the kids can get a first-hand, up-close look at actual planes and get to learn about the different parts of an aircraft, navigation systems and airplane mechanics that they will be putting to use in the simulator cockpit.
Parents and friends accompanying a child on a school holiday outing can observe the whole flight experience from super-comfy recliner seats in our First Class Lounge and see and hear everything that is happening in the simulator cockpit.
You can bring a picnic and make sure no one goes hungry in the First Class Lounge, and we also offer catering options – just ask! Alternatively, you could take the kids to lunch at the Muzz Buzz Café in the Royal Aero Club building (closed Sundays) and watch planes take off and land at one of the busiest airfields and largest aviation training bases in the whole country.
Talk to us if you want to bring a whole group of kids who all want to have a go at the controls of the flight simulator: We can offer special deals for group bookings! Call us on (08) 9417 7703 to book in your unique school holiday activity now.
PS: Michelle, who you will be speaking to, is a Working with Children Card Holder.
